The Intersection of Real and Virtual

Armando Frezze Durand embarks on an artistic journey that seamlessly intertwines the realms of reality and the virtual. Drawing inspiration from the world of everyday encounters, he actively seeks out male models whose personas exude a captivating essence and visually striking characteristics.

Whether discovered on social media platforms or encountered during public transportation journeys, these individuals become the focal point of Durand's artistic exploration.
"This pivotal stage in Durand's process embodies the intersection of the tangible and intangible, bridging the realms of reality and the digital landscape.".

Armand then uses a digital scanner to capture the figure's information, which he then retouches on the computer to create a 3D digital sculpture. The next step is 3D printing, dividing the bust into several pieces that are then joined together using materials such as epoxy and fibreglass.

In this way, one-metre high busts are achieved that are surprising for their presence and realism, taking images and materialities out of the 3D universe and into the real world.
