WOODENBOYS explores the image of the young body as a contemporary surface of projection. Adolescent and youthful faces are transferred onto wooden supports, where materiality introduces a tension between the organic and the mediated, between what is alive and what is fixed.

The series operates through a deliberate ambiguity: energy, desire, indifference, and vitality coexist within these figures, which seem to oscillate between presence and distance. Their gazes never fully reveal themselves; something is withheld. In this gesture, the work situates itself in a space where identity is not a fixed statement, but an unstable construction.

Wood, far from being a neutral support, becomes an active field — it absorbs, interrupts, and redefines the image. Each piece functions as a transfer, not only in a technical sense but also conceptually, where digital, photographic, and physical layers overlap.

In continuity with Armando Frezze Durand’s practice, WOODENBOYS understands the image as a process rather than a final outcome: to capture, translate, materialize, and re-observe. Within this cycle, what persists is not the portrait itself, but the friction between its appearance and its permanence.

Each work is presented as part of a limited edition, numbered and signed, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. All pieces have been supervised by the artist to ensure conceptual and material fidelity to the original work.

WOODEN BOYS

WOODENBOYS propone una exploración sobre la imagen del cuerpo joven y su circulación como superficie de proyección contemporánea. Rostros adolescentes y juveniles son trasladados a soportes de madera, donde la materialidad introduce una tensión entre lo orgánico y lo mediado, entre lo vivo y lo fijado.

La serie trabaja sobre una ambigüedad deliberada: energía, deseo, indiferencia y vitalidad conviven en estas figuras que parecen oscilar entre la presencia y la distancia. Las miradas no se ofrecen completamente; retienen algo. En ese gesto, la obra se sitúa en un territorio donde la identidad no es afirmación sino construcción inestable.

La madera, lejos de ser un soporte neutro, actúa como campo activo: absorbe, interrumpe y resignifica la imagen. Cada pieza se presenta como una transferencia —no solo técnica sino conceptual— donde lo digital, lo fotográfico y lo físico se superponen.

En continuidad con la práctica de Armando Frezze Durand, WOODENBOYS entiende la imagen como un proceso más que como un resultado final: capturar, traducir, materializar y volver a mirar. En este ciclo, lo que persiste no es el retrato en sí, sino la fricción entre su apariencia y su permanencia.

Cada obra se presenta en edición limitada, numerada y firmada, acompañada por certificado de autenticidad. Las piezas han sido supervisadas por el artista para asegurar la fidelidad conceptual y material respecto de la obra original.
